Today I strolled in to "It's a Grind" (apparently a "clever" name for a coffee shop that I just don't understand), and my mind was caught wondering as usual. I ordered my small, soy, iced white mocha, (makes me sound like a prick), and sat at a table to wait for my drink to be ready. When it finally was, the barista brought it out, and said "Here you go!" I replied with a "Thanks!" (fake smile included). She said, "You're welcome! Have a great day!" (extremely fake smile included), and again I replied with a "Thanks! You too!". Now, I thought to myself, I have this conversation with at least 5 people every day. (Not exactly, but somewhere along the lines (fake smiles and somewhat scripted dialogue) ). I wondered if it was a good, or a bad thing. I suppose it's better to have a fake smile, than none at all. Or is it? Is it better to be fake than act like your real self? I've been pondering the idea all day and haven't been able to come up with a solid answer. Arguments?
"Mom if you give me a foot massage I won't fight with you for a day and a half"
"Eehh, I need a better deal than that"
"TWO DAYS!"
hahaha. I love my life.
